The Child Journey

What is the Child Journey?

The Safe Home for Life program, of which ChildStory is a critical enabler, has been designed with a view to making lasting social change.

For the children that the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) works with, lasting social change means the opportunity for better health outcomes, achievement at school and successful transition to adulthood.

For this reason, and in order to “start from where children are”, we have developed the child journey. The child journey illustrates the experience of children and families at different points of interaction with FACS and our non-government partners. It uses their language and attempts to explain some of what they feel during early intervention, intake, assessment and intervention, restoration, placement, guardianship, adoption, leaving and after care processes.

The child journey is therefore the most important lens through which to view the ChildStory solution ecosystem.
